Feeling okay has started to feel like work
Lately, it can feel like nothing you do stops the thoughts from looping or spiralling. You catch yourself second-guessing everything. It feels like your own brain is working against you, and that constant battle leaves you exhausted and disconnected from yourself. You want it to feel like your mind is on your side again.
At Colibri NeuroWellness, we help you recognize the thought patterns that hold you back and build real tools to shift them.

What CBT Can Do For You
Not every thought deserves your trust.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, or CBT, is a practical approach to therapy that focuses on solving the challenges you are experiencing right now, rather than reflecting on the past. It looks at how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours influence each other to develop the patterns that manifest in your life.
When anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, or anger management challenges show up, they often follow the same patterns over and over. CBT helps you slow those moments down, notice what is happening, and learn new ways to respond.
At Colibri NeuroWellness, we use CBT in a flexible, neuro-affirming way for children, teens, adults, and parents. Sessions move at your pace and are shaped around your goals and your real life. You will learn practical tools you can use between sessions, so progress continues long after you leave the therapy room.
Over time, CBT can help you feel more capable, more confident, and better equipped to handle daily challenges.
- Ongoing anxiety, panic, or constant overthinking
- Depression, low motivation, or emotional numbness
- Trauma responses that feel automatic or hard to control
- ADHD-related challenges with focus, planning, or follow-through
- Anger that comes out quickly or feels hard to rein in
- Postpartum depression or anxiety after pregnancy or birth
- Sleep problems, tension, or constant fatigue
- OCD (obsessive-compulsive disorder) involving intrusive thoughts and compulsive behaviours
CBT equips you with tools to regulate emotions today, and long after therapy ends.

Questions About CBT
What is CBT, and how does it work?
CBT stands for Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. CBT helps you understand how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours are connected. Together, you and your therapist look at unhelpful thinking patterns and learn practical ways to shift them so daily life feels more manageable and more enjoyable.
What concerns can CBT help with?
CBT is commonly used to support anxiety, depression, trauma, OCD, anger management, ADHD, and postpartum depression. It can also help with low self-esteem, stress, and ongoing worry. CBT is effective as it helps regulate emotions, reduce symptoms, and improve problem-solving skills, helping you rebuild confidence at your own pace.
How effective is CBT?
CBT is one of the most well-researched therapy approaches. Many people find it helpful for reducing symptoms and building skills that continue to support them long after therapy ends, although results may vary by individual and condition.
How long does CBT usually take?
CBT is often short-term and goal-focused. Some people notice relief within a few therapy sessions (weeks to months). This may involve regular sessions and homework or practice outside sessions to help build skills. Many CBT sessions start off weekly and then taper down as improvements are made.
What happens in a session, and what is my role?
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy sessions are active and collaborative. You will learn coping tools, explore thought patterns (also known as Socratic questioning), and plan ways to practice new skills between sessions. Your involvement and practice help make the work meaningful and effective.
