Frequently Asked Questions

Therapy sessions are typically one hour, with 50 minutes of treatment and 10 minutes for administration:

Psychological Assessments such as Psychoeducational or Neuropsychological evaluations are $245/hour, with duration depending on complexity.

After each session, you will receive a detailed receipt for manual claim submissions to insurance or for your personal records.

Yes. We offer insurance claim submissions, though clients are responsible for confirming their own coverage.

If your insurance card is added to your profile, we can submit claims directly to many providers through Jane’s TELUS eClaims system.

For insurers not yet integrated (e.g., Blue Cross or Green Shield), we provide detailed receipts so you can submit claims yourself.

We ask for at least 48 hours notice when cancelling or rescheduling an appointment. Each time is reserved specifically for you, and late cancellations reduce availability for others.

If less than 48 hours notice is given, or if an appointment is missed without notice, the full session fee will be charged. Most insurance companies do not cover missed appointment fees. If you cannot attend in person, you may request to switch to a phone or virtual session.

Our team supports clients across the lifespan with Therapy/Counselling, SLP Therapy, and Occupational Therapy in Waterloo and virtually across Ontario.

Occupational Therapy helps with self-care, sensory processing, executive functioning, social skills, and motor development

Speech-Language Pathology (SLP Therapy) helps with speech and language difficulties, social communication challenges, and swallowing disorders.

Social Workers and Psychotherapists offer supportive counselling for grief, anxiety (generalized and social), depression, trauma, burnout, body image, gender identity, emotional regulation, ADHD, autism, and more.

Individual Therapy focuses on self-understanding, coping, and personal growth. We also provide Couples, Family, and Parent Therapy, including support for conflict, separation or divorce, postpartum challenges, and bonding.

We draw from a wide range of evidence-based approaches, including:

Our therapists also use solution-focused, strength-based, gender-affirming, narrative, and collaborative styles, often incorporating play, art, and movement.

Parent and caregiver involvement, as well as school consultation when relevant, are also part of our integrative approach.

Finding the right therapist starts with identifying your specific needs and goals, such as concerns related to anxiety, depression, trauma, or relationship issues. The next step is to review the therapists’ bios to learn about their credentials, areas of expertise, and therapeutic approaches, ensuring they match your needs and preferences.

We offer a free 20-minute consultation by phone or video. This gives you a chance to ask questions, share your goals, and see if the fit feels right before booking full sessions.

Remember that you can seek a different therapist if you feel the initial one isn’t the right fit for you.
